About Us
The Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association (IRPWA) is a body established to provide and maintain welfare for Republican Prisoners incarcerated in Maghaberry, Portlaoise and Hydebank Gaols. In addition to this, the IRPWA also assist the families of Republican Prisoners as well highlighting POW issues and campaigns.
Republican Prisoners are amongst those that suffer the most in the struggle for Irish freedom. Our support is available to non-aligned prisoners and we have been active in many of the wider campaigns that highlight political prisoner issues in Ireland and around the world.
